MacKillop College Students, Proud Recipients of First Trung Luu Award

On Friday 30 August, three of our Senior students were the proud first-time recipients of the Trung Luu Award at MacKillop College.

Lucienne Benko (Year 11) and Joshua Pacifici (Year 12) both received Leadership and Excellence Awards, while Maya Hayley (Year 12) received the Inspirational Award.

A new initiative to recognise and foster academic excellence in Melbourne’s western suburbs, Trung Luu MP has secured with Breakthrough Education (BT) a sponsorship for this year’s awards. BT is a specialised coaching school in Victoria that has been offering tutorials for students to attain outstanding results for more than 20 years.

As recipients of the Trung Luu Award, Lucienne, Joshua and Maya have each received a full-year tutorial scholarship certificate to the value of $6000 and, given the Year 12 recipients are nearing their end-of-year exams, BT offers them exam prep tutorials for Mathematical Methods, Chemistry and Specialist Mathematics at no additional cost.

In the future, we hope to continue this relationship with Member Trung Luu in support of this initiative, and to give our students the best opportunity to succeed.
