Message from the Principal – Term 4, 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

I write to thank you for your support over what has been another challenging year, and to wish you well as we commence our Advent journey in the lead-up to Christmas.

The pandemic over these recent years has had a significant impact on the life of the College and our community. It has presented us with many unforeseen experiences and complications that we have all needed to overcome. I would like to take this moment to thank all our students and parent/carers for the way you have continued to support the College, and one another. I have been heartened by the resilience and perseverance our students have demonstrated over the course of this year as they have transitioned in and out of ‘lockdowns’. I am proud of our entire College community and what has been achieved by each individual despite the circumstances.

As we prepare for Christmas, may we all understand the role gratitude plays in our preparations. Most people sense a yearning to recover the basic meaning of Christmas. This yearning will be satisfied when we make a conscious choice to focus on what we have in our lives, not what we think we need or want. May we all celebrate this Advent season, with great joy and thankfulness for what we have and who we are with. In doing so, the opportunity exists for us to experience a deep sense of gratitude for the real presence of Christ among us, the profound mystery we call Christmas.

And in the words of Mary MacKillop in 1889, this Christmas may we ‘find happiness in making others happy’.

Stay safe. God bless.

Kind Regards
Rory Kennedy
Principal
