COVID-19 – 27 July
UPDATE 1
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Today, we received the positive news that our College can re-open after the latest lockdown. It will be a pleasure to have our students and staff back on site after what will hopefully be our last lockdown.
The latest lockdown and associated restrictions have meant that many of our plans at a College level have needed to change. It has been necessary for some events to be cancelled, while others have been able to be re-scheduled. We take this opportunity to thank our community for their ongoing patience as we work to make the necessary changes to our calendar. Please pay attention to our College website for dates as they become available.
Despite the return to school, as you would appreciate, some restrictions remain.
Masks
All students at the College must wear a facemask indoors and outdoors unless an exception applies. Facemasks are mandatory for all our students when travelling to and from school. This includes the MacKillop College buses for excursions.
Please ensure your child wears a mask every day even when social distancing is possible. Please remind them of the necessity to socially distance when asked.
Visitors to the College including parents/guardians
Unfortunately, until otherwise notified all non-essential visitors are asked not to visit the College. With this in mind, all meetings with parents/guardians will occur over the phone or using Zoom.
When a visit is unavoidable, parents/guardians are asked to call the office first then, on arrival, enter via the College Administration building and sign in using the QR code.
Unwell or sick students
Parent/Guardians are reminded that if their child is unwell, they must remain at home, even with the mildest of symptoms, as this important action will reduce the risk of community transmission of COVID-19.
We look forward to tomorrow and seeing the College once again brought back to life by the energy and enthusiasm of our students and staff.
God bless.
Kind regards,
Rory Kennedy
Principal
