Year 8 Premier League – Grand Final Results

The Year 8 Premier League season was played throughout Term 4. At the end of seven rounds of competition, seven teams qualified for the semi-finals, with four having solid wins to qualify for their respective Grand Finals on 27 November.

After trailing by five points at half time, the Boys Basketball team fought back to defeat their archrivals St Monica’s by three points in a thrilling Final. The boys defended the title they won in Year 7 and became the only MacKillop team to win a Division 1 Premier League Grand Final in 2024. An outstanding achievement by the team.

The Boys and Girls Volleyball teams came up against very strong opposition on their home courts and just fell short to finish the season as runners-up. The Girls should be proud of being the first Female MacKillop Volleyball team to reach a Grand Final in six years.
Meanwhile, the Boys put up an amazing fight, to lose by the barest of margins in an epic Final. They were only a couple of points away from winning MacKillop’s first Premier League Boys Volleyball Final since 2015.

And finally, the Year 8 Boys Soccer team went through the season undefeated to win the Division 2 Grand Final for the second year in a row. An outstanding achievement by the boys.
